Snowblower Update; it was a belt.
It was a job tipping this one up on its face. Once I cracked her open I could see that the drive belt is fine and shows no wear. The friction wheel looks like it should be replaced before next season.

Top view of auger and drive belt location. That's the drive belt that is loose. I need to put the tension spring back.
